Fire Engines: PMG-1



The PMG-1 (Russian: ПМГ-1) fire engine based on the GAZ-AA truck was the most widespread Soviet fire truck of 1930s.
Currently the most of the PMG-1 trucks are lost; this museum specimen is kept at a fire station in Balashikha, Moscow Oblast, Russia

  • Length: 5840 mm (230 in).
  • Width: 2020 mm (79.5 in).
  • Height: 2460 mm (97 in).
  • Crew: 8 firefighters (2 in the cab and 6 on open benches).
  • Water tank volume: 146 litres.
  • Fire hoses: 320 m (1050 ft): 160 m on the rear bobbin and 2x80 m on side bobbins.
  • Water pump: centrifugal, max. 1400 l/min.
  • Max. speed: 60 km/h (37 MPH).
